Autism Classroom Training for Parents and Teachers

WE WELCOME YOUR DONATION

ABOUT US

Teacher preparation programs at the pre-service level may teach about autism, but few university programs prepare teachers to actually work with children with autism.  As a result, many teachers working in the field of special education today have had little or no training in research-based programs that have been demonstrated to be effective for children with autism.

There are many well-established national and local organizations focused on autism research related to the causation and/or potential cure, but few are addressing the educational needs of those children already affected by this disorder. FATE was established to fill this gap by providing targeted and sustained training for teachers and related personnel who work directly with children with autism in public schools.

FATE strives to help individuals with autism achieve the highest level of independence within their home, school, and community.  FATE aims to accomplish this mission by:

  • Offering targeted and sustained training in research-based programs that have been demonstrated to be effective for children with autism

  • Providing, supporting, and promoting recreational activities and events that bring happiness to the lives of children with autism and their families

  • Increasing public awareness of the disorder and its effects on individuals, families, public schools, and society
