THE FOUNDATION FOR AUTISM TRAINING & EDUCATION
...NO CHILD WITH AUTISM LEFT BEHIND
OVERVIEW
FATE provides “seed funding” through Project Pipeline to send teachers through comprehensive research-based training that has been demonstrated to be effective for children with autism. Teachers accepted into Project Pipeline are eligible to attend any of the workshops offered by FATE without cost to them or to their school district.
The training provided by FATE is based upon the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). These principles can be precisely described and explained and replicated across settings and people. FATE is deeply committed to sharing this technology with special education professionals wherever there is a need. Funding is available to bring research-based training to new areas. Funding decisions are based on need, scope of impact, commitment from key staff, potential for collaboration, and willingness to share what is learned.
PRE-SERVICE INITIATIVE
Teacher preparation programs at the pre-service level teach about autism, but few college or university programs prepare teachers to teach children with autism.
Teachers trained through this initiative have provided training and/or hands-on support to teachers throughout the U.S. as well as in Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America.
If you are a professional in the field of special education working directly with children with autism in public schools, or a student majoring in special education, please complete the Project Pipeline online application.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received and grantees will be notified within one week.
GLOBAL INITIATIVE
As an organization, we at FATE have learned lessons of tremendous value, and we are deeply committed to sharing what we have learned with others, wherever they may be.
